Description: | In 1973, Roland created the RE-201 Space Echo, a tape delay and spring reverb system that produced warm, warped, and analogue echo sounds. From soft tape processing to wild chaos, this legendary machine appears on classic albums by Pink Floyd and David Bowie, as well as essential dub tracks from King Tubby, Scientist, and Lee “Scratch” Perry. A few decades later, Universal Audio released one of the world’s most popular delay plugins – Galaxy Tape Echo, a remarkable reproduction of Roland’s original. The Cosmic Tape Echo is an adaptation of the delay unit, designed with additional features to push the boundaries of creating textural soundscapes while invoking the nostalgia of analogue sounds, utilising three tape head combinations and oscillating feedback, all crafted in Cycling'74's Max for Live. This device comes complete with a delay, reverb and an LFO. All are controlled via a mode selector, echo rate and feedback controls, tempo synchronisation, treble/bass control, echo and reverb pan controls, modulator and various routing and volume control capabilities.
